How to write it, step by step
- Write capital T and carry its ending stroke straight into the h.
- Join the rest of the letters without lifting your pencil: h, u, r, s, d, a and y.
- Let the y drop below the baseline and loop back up through it.

Tips for each letter
- T
- Adding the middle cross. Capital T has only the top bar; with a cross it becomes an F.
- h
- Making the hump too narrow, so h looks like an l and an i. Give the hump some width.
- u
- Rounding the bottom points into a w. Cursive u has two points at the top, not three.
- r
- Rounding the top so r looks like an i or an n. The small flat step at the top is what makes the r.
- s
- Writing it like a print s. Cursive s is a point at the top and a small closed belly at the bottom.
- d
- Making a loop on the tall stick. Cursive d goes up and back down on the same line, with no loop.
- a
- Leaving the top open, so a looks like u. Close the circle before you slant down.
- y
- Leaving the loop open below the line. Bring the tail back up so it crosses at the baseline.
