How to write it, step by step
- Write capital O, then lift your pencil: in school cursive, O does not join the next letter.
- Join the rest of the letters without lifting your pencil: c, t, o, b, e and r.
- Watch the high joins (ob and be): after b, o, v or w, the next letter starts at the midline, not the baseline.
- When the word is finished, go back to cross the t.

Tips for each letter
- O
- Joining O to the next letter. Capital O stands alone.
- c
- Making the hook too big, so c looks like an e or an a. Keep the top hook small.
- t
- Making t as tall as l, or adding a loop. Cursive t is shorter than the tall letters and has no loop.
- o
- Dropping the ending to the baseline. Cursive o ends high, so the next letter starts from the midline.
- b
- Dropping the ending to the baseline. b ends high, at the midline, so the next letter starts from there.
- e
- Making the loop too big, so e looks like l. The loop stays below the midline.
- r
- Rounding the top so r looks like an i or an n. The small flat step at the top is what makes the r.
