How to write it, step by step

  1. Write capital A and carry its ending stroke straight into the u.
  2. Join the rest of the letters without lifting your pencil: u, g, u, s and t.
  3. Let the g drop below the baseline and loop back up through it.
  4. When the word is finished, go back to cross the t.

Tips for each letter

A
Making it look like a giant lowercase a with a short stick. Capital A is tall: the oval reaches the top line.
u
Rounding the bottom points into a w. Cursive u has two points at the top, not three.
g
Leaving the loop open below the line. Bring the tail back up so it crosses at the baseline.
s
Writing it like a print s. Cursive s is a point at the top and a small closed belly at the bottom.
t
Making t as tall as l, or adding a loop. Cursive t is shorter than the tall letters and has no loop.
