How to write it, step by step
- Join the letters without lifting your pencil: b, l, e, s, s, e and d.
- Watch the high join (bl): after b, o, v or w, the next letter starts at the midline, not the baseline.

Tips for each letter
- b
- Dropping the ending to the baseline. b ends high, at the midline, so the next letter starts from there.
- l
- Making the loop so thin it disappears, so l looks like a tall i without a dot. Keep the loop open.
- e
- Making the loop too big, so e looks like l. The loop stays below the midline.
- s
- Writing it like a print s. Cursive s is a point at the top and a small closed belly at the bottom.
- d
- Making a loop on the tall stick. Cursive d goes up and back down on the same line, with no loop.
